Community Event Rules

Seminole Happenings shares neighborhood events submitted by the community. To keep our calendar trustworthy and local, every submission is reviewed by our admin team before it is published. Submitting an event means you agree to the rules below.

Event submission rules

• Local only. The event must take place in Seminole or the surrounding Pinellas County area.
• Be kind & courteous. No hateful, demeaning, discriminatory, or bullying content — including about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity.
• No politics or religion. Religious and political events are not permitted. Local civic events that share voting times/dates may be allowed at admin discretion.
• No firearms. No firearm sales or firearm-related events.
• No fundraising solicitation. No GoFundMe / crowdfunding or requests for money, free products, or services unless pre-approved by the admin team.
• No personal sales or real-estate promotion. No personal items for sale, rentals, open houses, or housing listings (use Marketplace). Business advertising is reserved for SHBA Verified Businesses.
• No business bashing or spam. Resolve business disputes directly; do not submit repetitive or spam posts.
• You are responsible. The organizer is solely responsible for the event and the accuracy of all details.
• Advertising only — not an endorsement. Seminole Happenings advertises community submissions only and assumes no responsibility for any event. Admins may decline any submission that does not fit these rules.

Seminole Happenings group rules

Our event rules follow the same standards as our community group. The full group rules:

1. Be Kind and Courteous. We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required. Any hateful or demeaning posts or comments will be removed. Repeat offenders will be removed from the group. Bullying of any kind isn’t allowed and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated and you will be banned immediately!
2. Business Profiles/Advertisements. Only Seminole Happenings Business Alliance Verified Businesses are permitted to have profiles in this group. Any non-verified business profiles will be removed. Business advertising is reserved exclusively for Verified Business members and is limited to one post per week. For more information on becoming verified, please visit www.SeminoleHappenings.com
3. Real Estate/Housing Posts. Absolutely no promotion of listings, rentals, open houses, or real estate agencies unless you are an SHBA Verified Realtor. This includes, but is not limited to: FSBO, FRBO, Airbnb, VRBO, etc. Additionally, no commercial promotions, room rentals, chair rentals, booth rentals, or similar business-related advertising is allowed unless posted by an SHBA Verified Business.
4. No Personal Sale Items. No individual items for sale allowed, please use Marketplace for that. This includes but is not limited to cars, homes, animals, crafts, furniture, event tickets, etc. Free item posts will be removed. With the increase of scams on online approval, unauthorized sales posts will be removed. Repeat offenders will be removed from the group. Personal Garage Sale/Yard Sale posts are allowed ONCE per event (1-2 days prior to sale).
5. No Politics or Religion. Absolutely no politics or religious posts or comments. This type of content will be removed and repeat offenders will be removed from the group. Local politics pertaining to Seminole and the surrounding areas with information about voting times/days will be subject to admin approval with the possibility of comments being turned off.
6. No Business Bashing. This rule applies to posts and comments. If you have an issue with a local business, please contact them directly to resolve your issues. If you’ve attempted that route and were unsuccessful, there are many other ways to publish your dissatisfaction such as google reviews and BBB. If you feel that the business is tied to Seminole Happenings in anyway, please contact an admin.
7. Other content to avoid posting/commenting. No firearm sales or firearm-related discussions are permitted. No pet rehoming, sale of animals, or pet fostering advertisements are allowed per Facebook Community Standards. No networking group advertising is permitted outside of Seminole Happenings Business Alliance. No GoFundMe or other crowdfunding campaigns are allowed unless pre-approved by the admin team. Online panhandling — including requests for money, free products, or free services — is not permitted.
8. Admins. We reserve the right to delete posts or comments that do not adhere to these rules. In an effort to protect the community, we have put together a group of Verified Business members who display the “Verified Business” badge next to their names. While we have screened each one to ensure their legitimacy, the admins assume no responsibility for a businesses wrong-doings. If you feel that a Verified Business has fallen short of their duty of being a trusted business, please contact an admin.
9. PLEASE DONT SPAM POST. This is a forum for helpful and fun content. NOT SPAMMING! Too many posts of the same kind, will result in you not being able to post at all!
